Terms of Use

Welcome to Platopy. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Platopy website, mobile experience, and the PY AI chat guide (together, the “Platform”), operated by Platopy Media Pvt. Ltd. (“Platopy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Platform.

1. Who can use Platopy

Platopy is open to everyone and doesn’t currently enforce a minimum age to browse. If you are under 18, please use Platopy with the involvement of a parent or guardian, particularly before creating an account, submitting content, or sharing personal information through PY AI. Parents/guardians can contact us at platopy07@gmail.com to review or remove a minor’s information.

2. What Platopy is

Platopy is a discovery platform that surfaces lesser-known places, stories, and experiences in Varanasi, sourced from local contributors and our own curation, plus PY AI, an AI-powered chat guide that answers travel-related questions. You can browse gems, bundles, and content without creating an account. An account is only required to submit content (photos, reviews, gem suggestions) or maintain a public profile.

3. Accounts

• You may sign up using email/password or Google/social login. You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
• One account per person. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, are used fraudulently, or impersonate others.
• You can delete your account at any time by contacting platopy07@gmail.com; see our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data after deletion.

4. User-generated content

When you submit photos, reviews, gem suggestions, or other content (“User Content”), you retain ownership of it. By submitting, you grant Platopy a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to host, use, reproduce, adapt, publish, translate, and display your User Content across the Platform and in Platopy’s own marketing (including Instagram, blog posts, and promotional material), with attribution where reasonably practical.

You represent and warrant that:

• You own the User Content or have the necessary rights and permissions to submit it.
• Your User Content doesn’t infringe anyone else’s copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights.
• Your User Content is accurate to the best of your knowledge (especially location, safety, and pricing details).

We may remove, edit, or decline to publish any User Content, at our discretion, including content that’s inaccurate, unsafe, infringing, or violates these Terms.

5. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

• Post illegal, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable content.
• Post content that infringes someone else’s intellectual property or privacy rights (including reposting others’ photos without permission).
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
• Submit knowingly false or misleading information about a location, business, or experience.
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or use automated means to access the Platform beyond normal use.
• Use the Platform to promote illegal activity or content that could endanger another person’s safety.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise the security of the Platform.

6. Content complaints and takedowns

If you believe content on Platopy infringes your rights or violates these Terms, contact our Grievance Officer (details below). We will acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days, and will remove unlawful content promptly upon a valid legal order, consistent with applicable Indian law.

7. PY AI — important disclaimer

PY AI is an AI-powered assistant, not a human, and not a licensed travel agent, safety authority, or professional advisor. When you chat with PY AI:

• You’re interacting with an AI system. Responses are generated automatically and may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate.
• Do not treat PY AI’s answers as professional travel, safety, medical, legal, or financial advice — always verify independently, especially anything related to your safety, health, or money.
• Please don’t share sensitive personal information (passport numbers, financial details, exact home address, etc.) in chat.
• Conversations may be processed by third-party AI service providers to generate responses; see our Privacy Policy for details.

8. Third-party places, businesses, and links

Platopy features information about independent third parties — cafes, guides, temples, hostels, artisans, and other local businesses or locations. We don’t own, operate, endorse, or control these third parties, and we don’t guarantee the accuracy, safety, availability, pricing, or quality of any place or experience listed. You engage with third parties and visit any location at your own risk. Exercise the same judgment and caution you would with any travel recommendation from a stranger, especially for less-visited or isolated locations.

9. Advertising

The Platform may display third-party advertisements (including via Google AdSense). We don’t control or endorse the content of these ads, and interacting with an ad is between you and the advertiser.

10. Bookings and payments (future)

If and when Platopy introduces paid features, subscriptions, or bookings/commissions with local partners, additional terms covering pricing, payment processing, cancellations, and refunds will apply and will be presented to you before any transaction. Nothing in these Terms currently obligates you to pay for any part of the Platform.

11. Intellectual property

The Platopy name, logo, PY AI mascot, and Platform design are owned by Platopy Media Pvt. Ltd. You may not copy, reproduce, or use our branding without prior written permission.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

The Platform, including all gem listings, PY AI responses, and User Content, is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We make reasonable efforts to keep information current but cannot guarantee it.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Platopy Media Pvt. Ltd. and its founders, employees, and contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or any loss, injury, or harm arising from your use of the Platform, reliance on PY AI or User Content, or your interactions with any third-party location or business featured on Platopy. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Platform is limited to the amount (if any) you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Platopy Media Pvt. Ltd. harmless from claims, damages, or expenses arising from your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or your misuse of the Platform.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time for violation of these Terms or for any conduct we believe is harmful to other users, third parties, or Platopy. You may stop using the Platform and delete your account at any time.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Platform.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the Platform or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
